"Yak wool is like Spinal Tap's version of amps, it goes to 11 when others can only go to 10."
"Beautifully made, soft and comfortable and very warm, I love it! The only complaint I can think of is the length - whilst I am quite tall, it only reaches the top of my butt (which is fine whilst I'm standing but will leave the lower section of my lower back exposed when I'm sitting or bending over. But only a slight problem and certainly wouldn't buy me from buying the garment again given how light but warm it is. Kora also added a very nice touch with a personal hand written note which also told me when my next garment would be arriving as I had ordered another Kora Yak/merino top. I thought that was very considerate."
"Totally agree with other reviews calling it the best sweater. I have three, plus one for my wife. It was essentially the only top I wore for three weeks in a cold, damp Ireland (is there any other kind?) in OCT/NOV 2023. Wore it over a merino wool t-shirt and under a Patagonia Torrentshell rain jacket in rain and/or high winds and was comfortable the entire time. It adapted readily to changes in temperature, weather and activity. Probably the ideal top for a range of conditions in cool weather travel. Pricey, but given you can replace several other tops with one, well worth the cost."
"High quality garments. A bit spendy though."
"My third Kora product. Best sweater I've had. Ultra soft feel, light, very warm. I have the purple version and I get lots of great comments from ski instructor friends asking about it and the company."
"The Xenolith represents the pinnacle of both softness and warmth in a midlayer. The yak and merino combination creates a luxurious feel that will make pretty much anyone more huggable. Performance wise, it’s proven to be warm, breathable, and durable so far. I tend to wear it over a light or mid weight base layer, although it’s soft enough to be worn alone. The deep zip and mesh lining add to its technical chops, as does the Polartec Alpha. If there’s any quibble, it’s that the sleeves could be a tad shorter, but obviously that issue will vary depending on one’s height/arm length. I do wish Kora would make a hooded version and add a few brighter colors. As for the current Xenolith, they have a real winner that I highly recommend."
"This sweater is as soft as Duckworth's stellar Maverick wool, which is saying something. It's a little toasty for a sunny fall day sometimes, but a perfect midlayer when the mercury drops. The weight-to-warmth ratio is crazy - no wonder yaks stay warm in winter despite being at such high elevation."
"Kora stepped up to help me with a problem I created with my mis-ordering and Beth offered to handle it in a very helpful way! Great service just makes a good product even better !!"
"I started to feel warmer as soon as I put this on and it is so soft. Excellent quality and it washes great. I wear this almost everyday now during the winter."
"Received my Xenolith sweater in time for my recent three-week trip to Ireland. Wore it nearly every day in 40-50F wet windy weather with just a merino wool T-shirt & light hard-shell outerwear during frequent rain. Warm and very comfortable throughout varying conditions and moderate activity (long walks/climbs during the day, pub crawls at night..). My new primary top for cool/cold conditions and travel."
