Simply the best!

My husband and I have been using kora shola yak bottoms since they came on the market and in true survival situations. The cost is well worth the price because no merino performs as well as yak wool, hands down. Weather climbing mountains or doing search and rescue we never need to worry about the cold. We hope the kora company continues to provide some PURE yak wool products.

Warm with 2 issues

Warm for the thickness. I use them as my base layer for hunting. Thin enough that I can layer on top of them. Two complaints I have. 1 I wish they had a fly so they don’t have to be pulled down under other layers, I can’t imagine wearing them alone and going for a walk. So I don’t see why they are without. Second, the tag in the back sucks. It absolutely itches at the top of your crack and even after trying to cut it off, it is stitched in so deep that the stiff tag fabric left over only gets worse. So, fabric is amazing, and product needs a couple revisions.

Not very warm as I expected, and not completely free from itching. But feel ok.

Perfect Cool-Cold Baselayer

This morning it was -4C, and I left the house before dawn for a 10k walk into town with two baselayers, a puffy, and a shell on top; on the bottom was a pair of wool shorts, the Sholas, and a light pair of synthetic trekking trousers. The first 4k was eastbound, down in the arroyo (dry riverbed),out of the wind. Turned north and climbed out of the arroyo facing into a steady 20kph breeze and had to batten down the upper layers entirely, and guessed I was going to have to pull out the shell pants in my pack. Yet 6k later, my legs were still comfortable and I was moving well and on pace. So the Sholas work as advertised, even as I'm sitting inside with a cup of coffee, not overheating.
