Jean-Pierre Whitfield's Kit List for Climbing

South-African born filmmaker and climber Jean-Pierre Whitfield has climbed peaks across Europe and the US and combines his love of climbing with his career as a professional filmmaker, creating narrative based stories based on people around the world and their crafts. Given the opportunity he would spend the majority of his time in Chamonix but recommends the hidden gems that Wales, Cornwall and the west cost of England has to offer.


I like to keep it very light and nimble but as England has temperamental weather be prepared for everything. ⁠
