Details

During the development process, our designer and outdoor athletes set out to create a lightweight technical mid-layer jacket for hard mountain days' skiing, climbing, mountaineering and trekking.

The culmination of painstaking research and a rigorous field testing process, the Stratam Hooded Jacket offers what our athletes deem essential in a mid-layer: breathability, added warmth, durability and protection - all in a design that permits total freedom of movement.

It’s made with our Hima-Layer™ Stratam dual-layer fabric. It features superfine yak wool in a terry loop construction on the inside to insulate in cold conditions and wick moisture during intense workouts.

As an outer layer in milder weather, the yak wool's moisture transfer abilities and breathability excel, and while the outer surface of DuPont™ Sorona® is not 100% wind or water proof - properties that we believe are best kept to your hard-shell - it does offer the protection required in milder conditions. A dash of elastane provides enhanced stretch.

We've packed the Stratam Hooded Jacket with useful features too: thumb-loops, stash pockets and a stowaway fitted helmet compatible hood.

Each time you step out on the mountain you need to be ready for all conditions. The Stratam Hooded Jacket has been developed for versatility, to perform whatever the conditions.

Giving back to the Himalayan nomads

kora was founded with the aim of supporting the communities of the Kegawa Herders' Cooperative, by buying their yak wool directly to create our layers.

A collective of more than 90 families in the Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, our friends live all year around at 4,500m.

We buy this wool at a set mid-market rate throughout the buying season in order to offer price certainty, and in addition we pay a 10% stipend.

lightweight powerhouse

Love the feel and thickness of this jacket. The roll down hood is also fantastic when you need a bit more warmth. I like to layer this with other Kora tops when it gets a bit windy or overcast.

OMG, I looooove this!

Wow, great colors, great skin feel, warm and breathable, the Stratham hooded jacket is awesome. I’ve even put it on in hot weather at Disneyland and it has been comfy and “cool”. The moisture wicking is impressive, I’ll mostly wear it in cold weather, but I can’t keep my hands off of this thing! I even bought a second one in a smaller size to have a good ski/winter trekking mid layer. No regrets, yak wool is awesome!!

Lovely and warm

Bought as a mid layer for skiing, but so versatile I can envision wearing it for almost any out door activity, either on it’s own or layered with other clothing.

Só worth the price🙈🙈

Kora Azog

I bought this jacket a year ago...gosh, it was só expensive 🙈 , I decided to take a leap of faith , spend my birthday money on it, and prayed it would be ok.....
It was not ok. Not even close to ok.....
From the first day it arrived up till today, I have been wearing this jacket. It is thé best jacket...ever . Nothing ok about it, it is perfect for me! Every morning I do an early bird ride on the bike, wearing this jacket. Every day it is somewhat cool and I am off to my horses, riding or working....I wear this jacket.... every evening, walking the dog, I wear this jacket. It is my my first “go to” jacket on all occasions, for every activity (except with hot weather). It keeps me dry, warm, comfortable. It breathes very well, it holds back just enough of the wind (and I live next to the sea, always windy here) and on cold days, the hood fits right under my helmet, it being a mtb or horse one. Since this jacket I have discarded many others and vowed only to wear merino, cashmere or yakwool. Perfect wools and this jacket is sturdier than many other wool jackets. Now, after wearing it at least 320 times in a year, my cuffs are a bit frayed, so I made a new ribbon (is that the right word?) along the seams. Still works great.... never regretted buying this for 1 second. Love 💕 it
