WOW!

I've been wearing Arc'teryx base layers for 30+ years (yeah, I'm obviously up there in age). Recently, I bought and have been wearing Patagonia base layers, as well, and absolutely LOVE them both. Although I'm a big fan of Mountain Hardwear garments, I didn't like their base layers.

And then came the Kora Shola Zip 1.0. As the title of this review clearly states, "WOW!". Seriously, WOW!

This is an absolutely beautifully made garment. The look, the feel, everything, just top notch and extremely good looking. I love the stitching and the Kora label. I'm beyond impressed.

It's June, so I haven't gotten to wear it skiing yet, but I'll be wearing it in 6 months or so, on my 1st ski day of the 22/23 ski season...guaranteed! I will re-post once I get to try it out in the elements, but I can already tell it's going to be a winner.

I got this for less than half price, which is a steal. The only color available was the obsidian blue, which is awesome looking and will go with just about any color I throw over it. I'm extremely bummed it's no longer available in my XXL size - if it was, I'd immediately buy several more (Kora, any chance you have a few tucked away somewhere?). At full price, this is expensive...more than comparable Arc'teryx RHO base layers, so I'll have to see how it compares in comfort and performance, before shelling out full price for the new Kora base layers.

I'll end my review with this - Kora is a high end brand that delivers everything they say about their products. Even down to the packaging with reusable, heavy duty garment bags. I'm a Kora guy now and hope to own more products in the future.

Thank you, Kora!

Buy it!

Fantastic garment. Every claim Kora makes about yak wool is true. I was so impressed by the Shola I bought a Xenolith. Temps and more details in my reviews of the Xenolith and Yushu hat. Thanks Kora! Please make a yak, touch screen functional glove liner next!

Super soft and well made!

I'm a very cold sleeper, but also don't get extremes here in SoCal. I wanted another base layer, and was attracted to Yak wool, as reportedly warmer then Merino wool. Thus, found Kora. This is an awesome shirt, and appreciate the half-zip for venting. Although I'm still undecided if this is warmer then my Smartwool 100% Merino wool mid-level base layer, as that is thicker weave and heavier, this is my new favorite! I'm very pleased, and shipping was incredibly fast!!! Thanks, Kora!

2nd Kora Garment

This is my second Kora garment (the 1st was a short-sleeve shirt). Like my short-sleeve shirt, I am quite impressed with the quality of the material, the sewing, and the general look of the garment. It also has a great feel whether it is dry or completely soaked. The deciding factor for me was the ethical approach of this company. Overall, a great investment.
